On December 9, 1996, Young committed suicide by shooting himself. As its name suggests, Ozark Jubilee was a country music variety show showcasing various artists in the honky-tonk scene. His first solo performance on the Louisiana Hayride occurred in October 1951, shortly before he dropped out of Centenary College to pursue a music career. He is a member of famous Soundtrack with the age 64 years old group.
